Legerdemain
n. 'Sleight of Hand'
Experimental project utilising the simple gestures afforded by paper, wire and clip to explore animation and compositing techniques, plus sound and lighting design.
Background plates are video footage, separate from the main animation with was photographed in front of a chroma backdrop and composited on top.
Shot in my studio in East London, ambient sounds sampled 14 storeys underground in the city centre.

Common Places
Observations made in Poland, though perhaps they could be from almost anywhere. I've been relishing the freedom of shooting with my phone, it’s a relief from having to have a ‘proper’ camera with me and I’ve found a new directness and immediacy to communicating my vision. I’m enjoying the low-fi impressionistic textures rendered by the imaging tech and tiny sensor working together to interpret and interpolate.
Shipyard Tourist
I spent 8 years working in shipyards around the world as a contractor on cruise ship refits. I documented the mega-industrial architecture and the people who worked in it, and was especially interested in the disparity between the lives of migrant workers and 'shipyard tourists' like myself.
